Best of luck. For maximum effect, I'd suggest making an analogue website to go along with the project because at present this initiative is limited to tech people.

There's a difference though. With a startup, you're practically working for yourself. In academia, you end up having to do a lot of ad hoc work for other people.

Here in Hong Kong we have a contactless payment card called the Octopus, one of the most successful of its kind worldwide, and the basis for London's Oyster card. It's been around for almost two decades now. With the exception of

That's honestly trivial to thwart if you're aware that such tracking exists. Alice can just withdraw a big note and break it up by buying a coffee, then use the change from that transaction to buy the drugs instead. Granted, some

I totally sympathize. It's funny because I've seen paid toilets in rural Indian towns since almost a decade ago. But it made no difference to toilet quality because they would just pocket the money and service the toilet as litt

You've misunderstood. I said React Native is revolutionary. It's the first JS framework that lets you build native iOS and Android apps. Key word here being "native". React itself was designed as a UI library, purely to

AngularJS already has third-party libraries for polymer/webcomponents, and from what I've heard, they're integrating it more solidly in Angular 2.0 React is pretty new, once it gets bigger it'll also follow along too.

I've read through the docs and they basically use JQuery for AJAX calls. Is that what you were referring to? React will keep getting bigger, and AngularJS has no answer to React Native which I find pretty revolutionary.

It's just outdated. The color scheme, skeuomorphism and use of Lucida Grande suggests it was designed a couple years back. The CSS text shadows in the headers is just plain annoying though

This crap is really sickening. Not this story in particular, but the fact that you can have all your cash seized with no legal recourse is plain ridiculous in a first-world country.

As a non-Sikh Indian, that's the first time I've come across the meaning of the word "Sardarji". Not proud of myself for this, but as kids, we'd crack "Sardarji" jokes which are basically the Indian equiva

It's usually 50-200 users online at a time, and out of that maybe 20-50 are chatting at least once a minute, so no, not 9000 users actively chatting at once.

I live in Hong Kong, where 95% of the population uses public transport daily, and has a very low car ownership rate. Reasons include $7.4 petrol (gal), vehicle registration tax that can exceed 100%, and expensive parking ($400 a month for a
