I wore a glucose monitor through the levels health program for a couple of months. I’m not diabetic, just curious. They present the idea of eating your protein and fat before carbs in a meal as a “challenge” to see how it’s different from e

Dr Peter Attia did a podcast with Dr Sinclair not too lon ago where they discuss this: https://peterattiamd.com/davidsinclair/ The show notes on the episodes are always really good, and you can almost read them without

I have a bad habit of buying video games that I will probably never get around to playing, and I used to keep a list of those games in a spreadsheet in the order I wanted to play them. I decided to build https://www.grouvee.com

DO is more comparable to AWS than GoDaddy. Essentially a VPS provider is someone who rents you a server instance on a much larger server running other instances of other people's servers. You are in complete control of your server inst

I get the data from Giant Bomb, so we've got tons of retro games. There's 94 pages of Commodore 64 games right here: http://www.grouvee.com/games/?platform=commodore-64

I've built a site that's like Goodreads but for video games ( http://www.grouvee.com ). It lets users catalog, rate, and share their video game collections. I'm on it every day almost because I play a lot of video g

I hate reading articles like this because it's trying to tell you that CrossFit culture is all about pushing yourself until you've practically killed yourself doing all sorts of crazy and whacky weight lifting. 99% of the time, th

Thanks! I was just thinking the other day that it'd be cool to be able to scan games in. I think my data source has UPC data in it, but I don't think it's very well filled out.

There's a pretty good core of active users. Definitely not all of them. About 1 in 10 becomes a regular, with about 2 - 3% checking the site almost daily. Around 20 - 25% use the site once a month. No idea if these numbers are any good

I'm trying to figure out how to monetize it. Affiliate links seem like the best option currently, but they're not doing much for me yet. Eventually I'd love to let publishers and developers promote their games on the site, bu

I feel like any "diet" that is named is instantly called a fad, and that really bothers me. Paleo is more or less eating whole, unprocessed foods, with an emphasis on low sugar intake. What's so faddish about that?

Thanks for the kind words! I can't decide what to do about the name. I kind of named it on a whim one day, and it just sort of stuck. I also own greatgam.es, and can't decide if I should use that instead. There's really no significance to t

Satcking is not a Telltale game. It's made by Double Fine, the people who made Psychonauts. Double Fine is run by Tim Schaefer, who helped create many classic adventure games like Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, etc.
