I think the simplified design shows that if you distill down what makes the iPhone UI great, it's not just about color and resolution. Great, simple layout with intuitive icons and an easy-to-use interface. Win.

I'm not a Windows fan, but if you watch some of the channel9 videos and see what they've done with Win8, they may be on to something [finally]. They tried some of this with Vista, but with iOS showing them the way, they may have stumbled on

Startup idea: allow people to share their conference badges during unused days (or during any non-use times). I often can't stay an entire conference, and usually ditch my badge. For a sold out show, would be nice to hand it to someone else

To be fair, the funding probably came sometime after the app development started. I tried it as well. I can see the novelty of it -- watch in real-time what people are doing around you. It definitely has a voyeuristic aspect to it. I think

Alternatively, you can create a second gmail account to 'archive' your least used contacts, and your primary account for your most used. I do this for archived email as well, for example.
