They aren’t “knowingly selling you poor quality” as some sort of scam. They are selling you wood to the spec you asked for. If you want higher-grade wood, you either have to spend money getting lumber graded to a higher spec or spend the ti

I think you might be surprised that Linux is generally not involved in safety-critical systems. There is a whole separate ecosystem for those applications.

Literally any product you send to the consumer can be reverse-engineered at comparatively low cost. The world doesn’t just revolve around server-side software.

That business idea is already taken. It’s OnlyFans and it has more revenue than a top 10 company on the US stock market.

I did some baroque harpsichord tuning in my past. Nobody I knew in the field of baroque keyboard tuning had absolute pitch, because it would drive you crazy if you did with all the wandering A's. When you want to flex between A=440, A=

Everyone can learn good relative pitch with practice. Music schools do this regularly, and it's just a skill you can pick up. Start by identifying intervals, then learn chords, and then learn to write down music you hear, and so on. It

Yes, Tesla was ridiculous at the time, but Tesla’s valuation at the time is normal for tech companies these days. However, the main comparison, which Elon has been trying desperately to escape, is traditional automakers. If you compare how

We all said that about Tesla for years, and a lot of people got burned on the trade. This time may be different, but it also may not be.

This is why they cane people in Singapore for nuisance crime. Incarceration is expensive and fines don’t have the right effect.

The Brazilian government keeps the crime contained to specific areas, where it gets extremely bad. In the US, a generalized lack of enforcement means small amounts of nuisance crime spread around.

It's way worse on RISC-V. There are maybe 5 x86 or ARM variants to care about at any given time, even if you want to hyper-optimize your code. RISC-V has a soup of literally 100s of extensions with non-uniform use and support.
