Lightning doesn't require waiting. Block time is not relevant unless you're sending a very large amount of money.

Sorry to hijack but pretty much all your other comments are censored on HN. Why can't we have interesting conversations here?

The updated version is good too (m720), it's both bluetooth and the oldschool USB adapter in the base. AA battery powered / buy it for life design.

I appreciate this. HN scares me sometimes.

This works for me too having my youtube account logged in. Steps: click the U icon, click the gear, click filter list, click Purge, click Update. Ads are gone again while logged in. You might have to do it again every now and then.

It got to the point for us when a customer with gmail would ask for an update about their order with us, we couldn't get an email back in front of them.

I don't like the idea of people being scared of RSS. Why drop something like this? If someone has really good ideas i'd like the option to get notified in a simple feed.

The 2016 iPhone SE shared the same chassis and IMO was the pinnacle of smartphones, big enough screen to have great functionality and small enough that you wouldn't glue yourself to it.

I just realized. This is Gen-Z's 911. Now let's go to the middle east! Don't ask about 7.

This will get censored... "We don't like abrasive hacker types round here."

VB blows everything else today out of the water. Most kids would lose interest when you mention the word environment or toolchain. Being able to visually draw a control and then click the control to add code to its events was the best motiv

As funny as this comment is, I really think the bitcoin blockchain is an implementation of a truth engine. It's currently a ledger for most people but you can be pretty damn sure what has been written 1 hour ago, is the absolute truth.

Reviewing laptops is surface level work. I am jealous of the 1,000 nit display though, if only i could get a mouse cursor instead of a "moving touch bubble" for RDP sessions over iOS...

Sounds like the OP has a boat that can float even with 50% power. Your advice is good and fits most sizes and I would like to present the flip side of the coin: 10 years in the game is a lot credential wise and I think could be an opportuni

Good info. Most Pi's are kept slightly warm for later consumption :)

These optiplex also idle around 5W and have more than enough horsepower for pretty much anything. I do like the pi for the long term form factor as bad as I think it is.

The simplest way it was put was like this: you buy a book and pay the initial price. Then you pay with your time to read it. Simplified but gives you an idea because everything we bring in, needs something else from you at some point in the

Why do we even need WebP? Who decided it was a good idea? It wont even render a preview thumbnail on older systems and wants to open in a browser by default (yuck! this is a picture) png, jpg and the others are good enough.

Multiple streams of income / selling your skills until you can work exclusively on what you want. Lowering overhead helps too: Learning to love what you have and another thing i learned on HN: for everything you buy, you buy it twice.
