The author mentions the French revolution, and that is a really important thing for the elites to understand. Class mobility -- as much as it existed because for a lot of people it didn't -- is what keeps the heads of the elites attach

Let's take the metaphor of writing. Would we say this guy is just a writer who started from another trade? No. Writing is something that used to require experts (scribes) and that now anyone can do and is just a normal part of doing an

Or we stop attacking sovereign countries simply because our allies (why are Israel our allies?) want to start wars.

The US shouldnt be starting wars with countries, and bombing civilians, at all.

Of course it is. There was no reason for the attack, except as Rubio admitted, Israel was going to attack so the US joined in. Why are we attacking anyone? Why are we dropping bombs on civilians in Tehran, destroying schools and hospitals,

As I mentioned at the time, the Wiz acquisition is the largest transfer of Israeli intelligence operatives into Big Tech in history. Here's my full thread on it: https://x.com/paulbiggar/status/190232958705014

One issue is that he is indeed saying this is for America. But, like, there are many people in the world (most, even) who are not American. If companies are willing to throw non-American people under the bus, that's neither ethical nor

Notice that Anthropic doesn't support spying on Americans specifically - spying on anyone else is fine. Can't spy on three specific 300m people, but spying on the other 7.7B totally ok.

Consider if you live in Gaza. Israel has destroyed all the telecoms equipment across the Gaza strip (and everything else). You were ordered to leave your home by Israeli soldiers, but now the school you're sheltering in is being bombed

We did an evaluation on Bitchat as we had also built our own and needed to choose whether to continue with it or look at Bitchat instead. In the end, after the evaluation we chose Bitchat. See more here https://updates.techforpal

I've been thinking about building a compiler for a while, but didn't have much time to do it. Over the break, I finally built a significant portion of a working, optimizing compiler. Heavily built by AI, of course. https:/&#

I think more systematic testing. It seems the AI is pretty good at generating tests and validating them, so really filling out the places where testing is weak. I think we could do a lot more tests for each compiler pass. For example, I thi

Sharing my experience of writing a full optimizing compiler for Darklang, using Claude Code, over the holidays. Would love to hear from more experienced folks (on either AI or compiler-side) over what could be done better.
