I've put the question to them. Maybe the price will rebound if demand grows, but this smells more like a permanent/ongoing arrangement and a USP for them.

The price is still looking solid at $25 and $35 (you'll need an SD card and power supply on top of that) Compare with the BeagleBone which is $89 and has no video outputs on board, but does have a better ARM Cortex chip. Personally I want b

I'm afraid I only draw pretty pictures and I'm not part of the foundation or engineering team so I know as much as has been publically posted. I imagine the 100 being made up now come from the common pool of parts. However, yields of the c

It depends on the (micro-USB) power supply. For the Model B (with ethernet) a 5V 1A output is recommended. At 2500mA this should be enough to supply 500mA to each of the 2xUSB ports. Many popular mobile phone chargers are micro-USB and supp

Thanks for the critique, I always appreciate informed opinion :) - The rational is that the rounded (Quicksand) is for the logo and branding only. Using it for body titles as well weakens core branding in my eye. League Gothic is doing the

Cheap USB Wifi dongle supported by Linux I think :-) Surely there's one or two that are tiny and will work? Maybe this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/7dayshop-Wireless-150Mbps-802-11n-Ad...

With an ARM11, HDMI and SD card, would a Raspberry Pi suit your needs? http://www.raspberrypi.org/ ETA December at current rate and enough real world examples at the alpha stage to be a cut above vapour :)

I've reproduced my comment from the site here, mostly to address the 'raspberries aren't purple' thing :-) -- I’m Paul, the guy who designed the amazing/abominable* logo above. Thanks for the ‘grats and criticism. I’ll respond to a few of t

Splitting a 30" display (2560x1600) in half vertically (editor|browser) for web-dev feels natural. It's 2x1280 displays, no bezel, effectively. It does require an optimal seating position though. I also have a cheap 1080p next to it for tes

30% would be somewhat defensible if Apple provided the CDN for the content. As they don't, they're taxing convenience and taking it far too high. The 5-10% number holds a lot more water. On the flip side, young upstarts will still lap the s

Hi there, I originally made this AMI and I would like to apologise to anyone who's instance has been taken offline because they used this image. Through inexperience I left my public SSH key in the AMI, which I failed to appreciate the impl

On a side note as a font-lovin' designer type: I personally love it when sites break out the webfonts to great effect. If a site is designed well then the small detail of the font AA is easily missed, ignored or forgiven as the site is a jo

Why? Because the system strikes a balance between good semantics (for SEO if you need to justify this commercially), expressing a design effectively and licensing typography legally for the web. It's an improvement over Cufon/Sifr generally

Bzzt Still wrong. If you have infinite bounces, and I ask you "Which number bounce in the series happens at exactly time X?", there is a time for X for which you will not be able to give an answer. This is because there is a limit for the

The series is infinite, but the sum of the series can still be finite. These two things are not at odds.

The bounces are an infinite series, each with a time attached to them tending to zero. Time itself is not a series, this is where the fallacy creeps in. A infinite series can have a finite sum.

This assumes that each bounce takes the same time to complete instead of also tending to zero. If you expect that each bounce also takes a smaller amount of time to complete, a series of infinite bounces takes a finite amount of time and th

Here's my take on an Ubuntu 10.4 AMI that fits in the free 10GB EBS allowance. http://guru.gg/aether/ubuntu-10-4-amazon-aws-free-tier/ tl;dr The default AMI's for Ubuntu take 15GB which will cost you $0.50 a month. This is a quick hack to
