I'm not sure I agree that this is such a 'superb idea' ... As a founder, I want to personalise my domain, and design, and that means coming up with different concepts, and searching whois until I find a good match that's available ... T

I would say that the problem is systemic - you have two political parties which are basically at eachothers throats the whole time, and a historical belief in a very pure form of capitalism - money is the bottom line, and the markets shoul

I don't think that being a member of a tribe enabled anyone to save the world, just their village and their families. I would argue that the internet has empowered far more people than ever. I get the Author's point, however I think he's o

Social gifting is cool. The only problem with it is that the people who REALLY need the gift are the ones who can't afford smartphones, tablet devices, or computers. So i'd rather give my gifts the old fashioned way. But i still like th

As already requested in the following thread: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2868110 I would love to see a tab for people submitting their products, i.e. a show HN tab ...

I think it's not about depending on HN for your startup's success, I think it's about creating a greater avenue of exposure for those who have invested months (sometimes longer) of their time into building a product ...

I disagree, I've found it very difficult to get upvotes in the past, that might be the quality of the product, however it would be great to find ways to improve that product given the right feedback and the right exposure ...

Hi Paul. I would love to see a tab for people launching new products in general. i.e. a way to submit your startup for review. Since HN is essentially a startup community, wouldn't it make sense to distinguish a 'review my startup' entr
