We're happy to take PRs. Seems everyone has opinions on packaging and you know what it's like when everyone has opinions, right? :)

We'll be doing comparisons against Kairos and OpenTSDB in the coming months. We just get asked about Cassandra specifically quite a bit.

The tests were run on the same hardware, a single server. Bare metal, not VMs. InfluxDB writes the series string with everything. We tried to imitate what you'd need to do to get close to similar functionality doing time series like I

That's the plan. No breaking API changes for a long time. We'll have additive stuff in the 1.x point releases. Tentative plan is to cut 1.1 two months after 1.0 with patch releases in the interim for any necessary bug fixes.

After 1.0 is released our two highest priorities are to handle high cardinality data sets (on disk and in memory inverted index) and continuous queries that are more automatic (downsample everything and give users the option for query resul

First, that bug is closed. Second, the last comment has nothing to do with TSM. Just because a user thinks it's related to the storage engine and posts that, doesn't mean that's what is actually happening. For that particular

I'm not aware of unresolved bugs on TSM1. We have people running it at significant scale in production. You're on 0.10? It's not rhetoric. I know people using it so it seems to me you're trying to spread FUD. There are s

I doubt you're an actual InfluxDB user, but I'll bite. If thousands of people are using a free standalone server, is that a bad thing? If VCs subsidized the development of this free software, is that also a bad thing? Software doe

The reason we think InfluxDB is compelling as a standalone server is that you can get 300k metrics/sec on a single server. The scale is there for many use cases in the current release

Not yet, but it's on our TODO list. However, we have to finish the clustering implementation before we bother going through that testing. At this point we're telling people it's experimental and not meant for production use.
