I don’t know about 5.4 specifically, but in the past anything over 200k wasn’t that great anyway. Like, if you really don’t want to spend any effort trimming it down, sure use 1m. Otherwise, 1m is an anti pattern.

Imagine the worst data format you can think of. Then spend the next week making it even more convoluted. That data format is still better than EDI.

One object for every UTF-16 code unit. And yes, if that were the sole string interface, things would be very slow. String iterators are relatively less common.

by paulddraper 8mo ago
Brother, you are talking about one object for every byte . That is a madness. And often for no reason...you're copying or arranging bytes in lists anyway.
490.
by paulddraper 8mo ago
Yes, then you are back to Cloudflare's suggested interface. An async iterator of buffers.

Just use AsyncIterator<UIntArray>. The objection is > The Web streams spec requires promise creation at numerous points — often in hot paths and often invisible to users. Each read() call doesn't just return a promise; interna

Your idea is flatten the UInt8Array into the stream. While I understand the logic, that's a terrible idea. * The overhead is massive . Now every 1KiB turns into 1024 objects. And terrible locality. * Raw byte APIs...network, fs, etc f

MCP is just JSON-RPC plus dynamic OAuth plus some lifecycle things. It’s a convention. That everyone follows.

Yeah if it is, then downvote.

Because it hurts feelings? If someone reproduced the Linux kernel would you feel the same way?

by paulddraper 8mo ago
But presumably if you could do this for Next it would be at least as easy for Astro?

Measuring the size of a model that produces a win? Theoretically valid, but that's not going to be a very useful/diable.

Surprised it didn’t mention until the very end, but since chess is deterministic, there is no objective probability. Every position is objectively plus infinity, minus infinity, or zero. The “advantage” is an engine-specific notion that hel

Yeah this is wrong. They will show the files in your repo. gitignore just decides whether untracked files appear as new or ignored. (But you can commit them anyway if you are so inclined.)

by paulddraper 8mo ago
Okay, then the “vulnerability” is de facto simply transitioning the system to an acceptable state.

by paulddraper 8mo ago
> Global ignores are good for OS-specific files like .DS_Store or Thumbs.db that shouldn’t clutter every project’s .gitignore. News to me and a lot of people. I see a lot of .DS_Store in a lot of gitignore.

And who determines whether or not they get an accepted signing key?

by paulddraper 8mo ago
OAuth 1a was simpler or at least straightforward. It doesn’t seem that way on the surface. But once your finished with out of band callback validation, localhost, refresh tokens, and PKCE, you realize what a monster OAuth 2 actually is.

It’s not timeframe per se, but rather holding indefinitely without actual charges. Jails are not concentration camps. Detention centers are not concentration camps. (Unless they hold indefinitely without charges.) Seamus Culleton is welcome

by paulddraper 8mo ago
Certainly! “A concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for internment” Internment is long-term (see Wikipedia), whereas the ICE detention centers are short-term (average stay < 30 days but depends on time for deportation ).

Many many such negative opinions. The only difference between channels is which government official is criticized.

by paulddraper 8mo ago
Yes. For example, the U.S. also had ethnically-based "concentration camps" (but not extermination camps) during WWII. But these are not like the concentration camps of the 1940s. "Detention camps" are a more accurate des
