Google pushes things to me all the time. Mail, weather, sports scores, traffic, etc. To suggest Google is a laggard in this domain is rubbish.

This was a bit of a let down. I didn't see anything "major" about this at all.

For comparison, the market leader, First Data, processes about 50x that. $5B per day. Still, not bad.

Mailchimp is another fantastic bootstrap success story. Hugely successful, but not talked about much because (1) they're not in the Valley (2) didn't raise boatloads of VC cash. Oh, and the founders still own almost the entire bus

The iPhone only seems affordable because it is tied to a 2-year contract. Otherwise it would be $800 and Apple wouldn't sell anywhere near as many as they do. At $350, I don't see how Apple Watch is going to crack the volume marke

This is not true. The Hobbit demonstration showed why 24fps is superior for Hollywood storytelling and movies will likely stay that way, possibly for decades.

This is a great reminder that at one time Hitler was not the caricature of pure evil that he is now. He was real and nobody knew what the future held. Amazing snapshot into that time.

Awesome concept! I am not a lawyer, but it seems one could easily argue that an "idiot in a hurry" might confuse this for youtube. Which is sort of what the threshold is for this sort of thing nowadays. So, yea, start thinking abo

Well said. Most of the major reasons people are attracted to the suburbs is due to having children. People with children want a larger home, great schools and low crime. Until these "new urban" environs offer that, it will be diff

The article clearly says this is not the case. The searches for "iPhone slow" come when the new version of iOS is released, not when it is announced. Second, we do studies like this so that one data point (yours) is not used to ma

Good grief that was a waste of time. This entire concept only works if time travel is possible and will be discovered in the future. It isn't, and it won't be.

Usually for someone to lose their future vesting, they have to walk away, or be removed "for cause." A disagreement between founders is insufficient. Forming a company with partners is like a marriage. You can't dabble in it.

This looks scary for authors, and maybe it should. Like digital music and movies, the marginal cost of an ebook is pretty much zero. If you are an author, you need to rethink how to make money from your work. It won't be from selling $
