Regarding concurrency in Go, this is a good place to start: http://golang.org/doc/effective_go.html#concurrency And, yes, the chart drawing library was written by us. It uses cairo for drawing primitives.

Node performed well, but we prefer writing async code in Go, and we like compiled languages. We'd love to experiment with Erlang at some point, at the very least to write an Erlang StatHat library.

Doesn't Cassandra require a lot of RAM? http://wiki.apache.org/cassandra/CassandraHardware I can't find any numbers for riak RAM requirements...
