Do you want to ever show up in search results when people google your company name? If yes, then yeah, you should change it. I wouldn't even worry about trademark issues or brand confusion, just visibility.

Fair enough - I'm not saying no video, but maybe have a "Read more" link underneath the "Learn More" or something? Just a thought for the next A/B test.

You know, I skimmed the article and liked it, and thought "hey, I'll check out GrooveHQ.com, see what their deal is" since I haven't heard of them before. And I get to a page where the only way to learn more is to watch

People also forget that cash isn't free - you have to protect it (with a safe/locks/doors/armoured cars), count it, process it, watch for counterfeits, have change on hand, deposit it, and so on. And it's flammable.

It's not widely practiced because it makes for a poor user experience in most cases - what happens when a user forgets their secret? Either they can never access their email account again, or at least they can never read their old emai

I also find a warm shower a pleasant way to wake up (and live in a locale where neither electricity nor water is scarce) - so it's a combination of sense, custom, and pleasure.

Knowingly and willfully destroying evidence that's been legally subpoenaed is indeed illegal, whether done by Enron "immorally" or $tech_company "morally".

How do you figure? 99.99% of the time our clients expect us to be up, we're up. We're not the electric company; if we're up the right 166 hours in a week our customers aren't impacted. If you turn your monitor off at nig

What? No, that's completely untrue. We guarantee 4 nines on some of our services, but they're measured with 2 hours of allowed downtime early Sunday mornings (we usually don't need this, but very occasionally we do).

It's not that it saves money, it's that if the people who manage it aren't allowed to work, it's super dangerous to leave a website up. What if it gets hacked/compromised in some way, and employees are literally not

Why are your examples "evil"? Your first one might mean gmail serves me ads for chicken wings (which I want) instead of diapers (which I don't). Is that evil? As for the second, banks are under Orwellian central management -

There's no way to have a perfectly secure system if the hardware is in someone else's hands. Period. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Pill_(software) for one reason why.

Is there a market/business model where that isn't true? The key to sustainability isn't to be the only person doing something, it's to keep improving on how you're doing it.
