RTT does sound really cool. Their application in a mall is definitely interesting. I wonder how well it works with multi-floor though. And how accurate it can be. Meraki's control software is sort of able to triangulate a device, but b

There's nothing sad about it. I know people that hadn't watched a movie or TV show in 2017. I know people that hadn't played a video game in 2017. It's just a matter of perspective and interest.

That number doesn't surprise me. I personally did not read a book in whole or in part in 2017 or 2016. It's something I don't need to do for my career and is not a past time of mine. My reading primarily comes from the intern

For me, once I was able to find a project I was able to make a small amount of money off of, it started the spark for doing tons of other projects. Only now the projects tend to contribute to the original project usually by enhancements in

My favorite part of Windows is the collection of "open file" dialogs exist. There has to be at least a dozen by this point. Windows 10 has one that was made in Vista/7 days that is actually broken. You can select the file and

I blame my dad as he was also left handed and moused left handed. I'm currently trying to figure out how to build my own keyboard and remove space around the arrow keys to solve the keyboard issue. I'm at the point where hotkeying

So they took one of the best ambidextrous mice and made it right handed? Thanks! But seriously, I know left handers are only 10% of the population, but I'm sick of being left behind, no pun intended. I've been using the Razer Deat

The PC version will only play on older systems, but it's seriously worth it. Even in just a XP VM. It's easily the best version of the game.

So, SSIS? Where I work we're currently replacing everything that's SSIS with .NET services. I get the idea that taking the code out of it seems easier, but I've found it usually just leads to frustrating limitations. For our

Agreed. I used to be on the .NET hate bandwagon because I didn't understand it and conforming to MS was more of a business-suit idea for me. However, EF + LINQ + expression trees are amazing.

As someone who has really only learned MVC (I've done some old Webform Umbraco-based stuff which is terrible but I think that's probably more Umbraco's fault) from an organization standpoint this feels much cleaner. I think t

I've always wanted to try it. I'm more interested in Statamic which is premium, but seems better supported and I'd be more comfortable putting clients on it. From an outside perspective without having used either, that is.

I usually roll my own solution with Kodi + tvheadend + HDHomerun. Though HDHR is working on a DVR server that integrates directly with Kodi so it's gonna get even easier. Should work on any device that supports Kodi.

I think price is a factor. I'd totally buy a large e-reader for things like holding manuals, recipes for the kitchen, etc but large e-ink displays are so expensive that these aren't places where it makes sense to bring one in.

On a 4:3 note I really just want a large 1024x768 (or even 2048x1536) monitor that's larger than the standard 18" for software preservation purposes. Lots of games were just made to run at 1024x768.
