How do you justify your salary given that you sit in a chair all day, likely making the world worse, and make 5x as much as someone saving lives, building houses, or teaching kids how to read?

I think so many acronyms have meaning that isn’t explained by the words that the stand for. The other day I was explaining what CI is and they asked what it stood for; I realized that Continuous Integration is almost completely useless for

> only 1% attributable to food and fuel What do you mean by this? If adding food and fuel raises CPI by 1%, then the food and fuel prices have necessarily raised by _more_ than the combined 3.8%.

I use zed every day, but the git view is still buggy and unreliable for me. It often chooses the wrong folder---a subfolder rather than the root of my git project---and shows that there are no changes. And sometimes, even when the right fol

Notably, though, a significant fraction of people seem to believe that building more housing will cause rents to increase. So it seems like it is still important to point to data suggesting the opposite.

Citation needed. It seems pretty clear that a mechanism to allow a user to access a battery will increase complexity, making all the other properties harder to achieve.

I agree that this is annoying and unintuitive. But I don’t see the simplest solution here, so: All you need to do is pull main, then do an interactive rebase with the next branch in your stack with ‘git rebase -i main’, then drop all the co

Rebasing after merging a base branch becomes a pain though, when you do this. IMO the CLI will be nice to automate the process of rebasing each branch on its parent.

Hm, the latter is certainly more practical, but feels less interesting to me because we already know that LLMs can write code. To me, exploring the limits of the LLM-in-the-loop approach would be more interesting. Cool project regardless, t

Isn’t this showing that LLMs can write code to control robots, not that they can actually directly control them? If I’m reading the hand tracking example right, the LLM is not actually in the control loop. Is this wrong?
