Bike accidents are correlated to popoulation densisty in all the statistics I have seen. Is it really that different in Italy?

We don't hand out medals to normal people, but incarcinate the ones "who want to teach you a lesson". What you just described is what normal people do on the road. There is a lot of research on this and cyclists are not any d

Looking sideways from a bicycle is not something you do for fun, it's a way to see what drivers are up to. Especially when they drive up beside you it's pretty hard to know what they will do.

As a white guy I speak out against racism and misogyny, but doing that is not easy and I can not take responsibility for the actions of others. You have to choose your fights, I choose them selectively, and conflicts in traffic is one of th

This was true for me, but now days it almost never happen. What changed was that my route got a serious upgrade, with lower speed intersections, better yield signs for everyone. All it took was a well thought out plan for all the streets wi

No red lights are not a safety measure, they make car traffic go faster. Most intersections have better throughput without redlight for smaller vehicles at slow speed. As long as the speed of cars is lowered to something safe they are also

It can be very hard to understand how to move safely on a bicycle if the infrastructure is just built for motorists. The choices of different groups are motivated by different priorities. You have to understand. Red lights are there to make

Many thanks for publishing it, think about releasing it as open source my daughter had a blast modifying the source code. Adding a little sister mode making it almost impossible to beat.

Copenhagen is a pretty car centric city though, public transport has traditionally not been that well prioritized. It is good city for bicycles, but the suburbs are sadly made for cars IMHO. There is also alot of infrastructure being built

I used to dread hills even as an avid bicyclist, but as soon as I had three big ones on my daily route my body just adapted. So yes topography does affect your choices less people will cycle there, but it does not affect time that much.

Bring up your phone assitant and say "I want to take public transport to the meat packning district" and it will probbly work. My seven year old did it, and paid, on her own. GTFS is published by most public transport these days,

This is the only reason I do not like riding a bicycle (or other private transport), you have to take care of it, park it and return to it. Just being able to walk and hop on public transport is a great feeling. I guess it's something

There are many things to discuss about that, first were your edits correct, secondly how can you make such edits and be accepted on Wikipedia. It doesn't seem like you care about reflecting why you failed at the second one. I guess tha

Interesting! Is this allowed in GDPR? I would not think any of these points would be ok. You seem to argue that this is something "everyone does", that does not make it ok. I really thought we had gotten further in the privacy dis

Lucky you didn't get legionella. That is not up to spec, cold water lines should always be below 25°c. I have never seen such an installation, even in development countries it was done correctly.

50 km is a long commute but it is not unheard of. Doing 50km under 40 min is doable, as long as that is possible by car you will have quite a lot of people commuting like that. Almost all commutes are under 40 min but average is 25 min.

Been there the last 30 months, then because of that work stopped being fun. Now taking a time out, work gives me as much leave as I need, family/personal is harder to take vacation from. Sometimes you have to.

I came from Python and C, for me Java has these issues. I almost never find what I want about java libraries, I waste a lot of time this way. I'm sure you could measure this, but I guess we are just used to read code in different ways.

We know that dams are dangerous and that they fail, the smaller ones are decomissioned when not in use not only to improve the ecosystem. A dam is not designed for a life of a 100 thousands years, it's a long time.

Dams break and wreck havoc on ecosystems, the US has had it's fair share of coal mine sludge disasters. Even countries with strict environmental agencies and long history of mining have accidents.

XSLT can do too much, you can even draw a map with XSLT with styles like Osmarender[1]. Javascript is already the XSLT of json and it is good enough at giving alternatives to a locked down format. [1] https://wiki.openstreetmap.o

Group think exists in science too, I mean Newton calling Leibniz a copy cat was a set back and it's crazy that I still had to learn about the priority controversy almost 300 years later. We feed on unneccessary controversy.
