Focus on both. They are both obviously the issue but one is easier to fix than the other at a large scale.

Maybe he didn't word it in the best way but the point here is that many feel betrayed. Betrayed because people with simillar backgrounds to them have not recieved anywhere near the same treatment. People from Gaza come to mind.

It really is eye opening. For years many have made the excuse when it comes to others that its just not worth it because of the potential consequences. I honestly bought it myself. Yet here we are throwing all sorts of punches with a nuclea

We really should honestly start looking for the nearest nuclear bunkers. There is little chance this could end well with how fast things are escalating. All this for fucking what.

Well in this case I think many programmers just see it as a direct assault to their identity.

If anything is overhyped in AI it's deep reinforcement learning and its achievements in video games or the millionth GAN that can generate some image. But when it solves a big scientific problem that was considered a decade away, that&

If we are going to start saying "but it hasn't achieved X yet when Y said it would" as a way to classify a field as overhyped then I don't know what even remains.

I wouldn't get it mistaken. This isn't a study that actually proves that they are bad at arithmetic it's just a fun little anecdote.

Platforms like Facebook just expose some of the bad parts of human nature such as cult like behaviour. Tech is neither the source of all evil nor the solution to all our problems like people in tech like to treat it to be.

There is an extreme demand. Many franchises like Pokemon are still breaking sales records along with consoles. https://gamerant.com/pokemon-legends-arceus-sales-records/

Not sure how AR, AI/ML or even No Mans Sky belong to the same list as NFTs. No Mans Sky has delivered on many things over time and chances are you used AI for something today even if you aren't aware of it. Maybe you mean AGI and

This comment managed to blow my mind. Are we really trying to say the cofounder of DEEPMIND is too stupid / incompetent to have graduated from Oxford and came up with a charity as a front for it?

"But what about the US". We are talking about China but this is predictable at this point. You also avoided addressing half the things mentioned and gave me how China is managing Covid but what I had in mind was how it originated

Is there something specific that comes to mind when you speak of this knowledge and data on vaccines that makes you so assertive or are you just paraphrasing something you may have heard elsewhere?

We have different capacities. That is why some become a GM at 12 and some are stuck an IM for life. And it extends beyond just being a GM or not. No one atm is as good as Magnus Carlsen for example, yet have been training at even younger ag

I think it is safe to say when both players have had the same level of training and same level of interest that the better player has better analytical ability. I can't see why else there would be a difference in chess ability at that

Not just painstakingly hard, I think for many it is impossible. Many IM's do think it is worth the effort but just can't reach it.

Why is a comment that makes assumptions about its readers and makes typical bragging points of meaningless things like learning syntax at a young age near the top? It felt like I was reading a parody towards the end.

You could make this exact argument with Twitch streams yet it is extremely popular. I do believe watching/listening to it live with others does add to the experience. Also AFAIK there is a chance for the audience to actually join in on

I feel the solution now for highly talented yet underpaid people is to go solo on places like Youtube. Countless people are willing to learn from some of the best.
