The site is not that great, and there are a lot of what look like shoddy print-on-demand books that Amazon also sells. Not exactly your indie-bookstore mix.

I shouldn't have gotten rid of my Sun Sparcstation 20. It ran CDE, and you could also run an early, super-slow GNOME.

I never used Discord, and I assumed that a "server" meant a server. Now I'm definitely not interested.

I love this service. I am really interested in learning how to do this myself. And like others, it would be nice for all the code to be open source.

I was running video on a Lenovo desktop, CPU was at 100% the whole time, and it didn't heat up or make a lot of fan noise.

I did the same, only with Ruby. Iterating now would be refactoring with better code and adding a GUI. But now I have a working utility that I use every day.

It all comes down to preference, including what works for your hardware and your use case(s). Before GNOME 3, Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora all used GNOME 2, and they were more alike than different. I'd say the same is true today with thes

A distribution like Ubuntu, Debian, Pop!_OS, Fedora, etc., is a collection of programs from many, many other projects and places. Almost every distribution configures things a slightly different way, but almost any other distribution can be

Many things happen in the Linux kernel. It doesn't matter which distro you use as long as the kernel supports your hardware. Lots of distros have taken credit for things that happen outside of what they do.

When it comes to innovation, compatibility for new hardware and being welcoming and encouraging to new users and contributors, you cannot beat Fedora.

Listen Notes is a nice service. I don't quite understand how it works -- do podcasts pay to be included in search results? It's a nice thing for the listener, that is for sure.

I have been testing Syncthing, and I like it. It doesn't rely on a client/server model -- it's client to client, and I rarely have two laptops running at the same time, so I set up a Raspberry Pi Zero W with Syncthing, and it
