There are tons of farm to market roads in Texas that have 70 speed limits out of towns and lower limits within towns. Many towns on these roads setup speed traps and have stoplights or stop signs. US-380 runs directly through cities with st

HQ was a daily part of my life for a few months in my last year of college. It was pretty cool way to get a large group of friends together twice a day. Building software to assist in answering questions and win was fun too ;)

Every time I've been in a CFA in the past few years it's been absolutely packed, but their system is efficient enough that the wait time is only a few minutes and the service is friendly.

I love the idea. However I tried playing with the product for a while and there's no way I can recommend any of my friends to use this in lecture. It uses 70% CPU and 10% GPU causing the fans to spin up. I've found that outlets ca

Yang does have an interesting idea for campaign finance reform too. 100$ a year for any citizen to spend on political campaigns. In some ways I think this is bigger than the UBI. If everybody spent this voucher it would be ~23B, almost 4x w

This tool is exactly what I wanted whenever I was first learning pronunciation. I've found myself using siri to check my general pronunciation in longer sentences. This tool with segmentation would be a huge game changer.

I’ve spent a few evenings trying to get openjdk compiled, but have given up. Everything runs fine, but when non native apps do anything intensive things get slow. Honestly it is okay if you do most of your work through WSL as arm64 is suppo

Civcraft 1.0 was amazing. I remember hearing about people having bots to show player's locations on an online map using jukealert messages. Anarchy minecraft has gotten super popular on youtube. I wonder if there's room for it to

Sounds like we might finally get more than 16GB of ram on the 13 inch MacBook Pro. Intel has been dragging their feet on supporting LPDDR4 for way too long.

ICBC does this on the full keyboard, but they randomize everytime you switch from symbols <-> normal keyboard. Makes for a frustrating UX.

You can’t really use Google Maps in China. Even over VPN it’s outdated and often displays the wrong location due to the GPS scrambling that the government enforces on maps. Baidu Maps is very good though, I would even say on par with Googl

Honestly glad. Highspeed rail is not going to work in America if it takes 77B and and over 10 years to complete one line. About 10 years ago China had only 1 high speed rail line, now look.

To be fair, the 16GB of ram limitation is mostly Intel's fault. Low power memory in the typical laptop is still limited to 16GB. Adding non-LPDDR memory affects battery life significantly and most manufactures are unwilling to do it.

I’m not worried about the interop. I want a not too hacky way tool to statically link it in.

I've been looking into doing this in Go and haven't found a good solution for Python 3. Is it possible to build a static binary (including Python) with pyo3 in rust?

I went and visited their office in SZ last summer to buy one of these motherboards. I was amazed that it seemed like a 5-7 person operation and they designed a modern laptop motherboard. Maybe they contracted out some work and the office wa

I think they’ll be faster with lower power consumption and Apple won’t be limited by Intel’s schedule updating Macs (Use whatever’s in the iPad pro).

If e2e encryption is on one extreme, wechat is on the other. You have to link your account to a government id if you are the owner of a large group chat.
