What about apps that are slow to update or relatively abandoned? Guidelines are all well and good and I assume everyone here thinks they should be followed. The problem is though that not everyone will update on time. Take for example when

If the setting is saved I could see it being manageable. I think the bigger issue is if you have apps or games that stretch and get parts of it blocked by the notch. That is where you really can't do anything about it.

You easily could have just not put the notch in, and left a slight bezel on the top. Saying no one cares about the notch is a bit much. If it bothers someone, it bothers someone. If it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother you. Pe

Why the troll comment? There are good and bad points to both ecosystems. For instance the Fingerprint reader on my Pixel is faster and more accurate than the TouchID on my iPhone 7. That doesn't make me go, iPhone sucks. The implementa

Apple probably owns the design because most other manufactures hopefully see that you shouldn't be looking at a notch every time you are viewing a video. I've been an iPhone user since day 1 but the screen shape on this phone just

If they were doing it right the DB would be encrypted and the PCI fields would be tokenized and then if you get dumps of the DB you don't have anything you can use.

If a kid is really interested in learning about computers and programming they will do it. One thing that can end badly is if you try to force the subject on them. It will become like a class at school then. I would leave them alone, let th

Have you thought about the added execution time from JVM startup? A project I had dropped in my lap awhile ago was figuring out a way to speed up a java lambda function. Basically we decided the only way was to try and make the lambda conta

I'm still waiting for us to actually cut wasteful spending in areas like defense. Too bad that will never happen. The Gov can just keep cutting science spending.

I find it somewhat hard to believe that helping some less fortunate schools teach coding is really going to have a negative impact on your pay. But by all means keep bashing something that is actually doing some good.

I used to use spectacle but I find that I enjoy using amethyst more in terms of my productivity and window space management.

While you most likely made that comment in jest. Stereotyping everyone into a category like "blue-haired SF nobodies" is rather offensive. Not saying I disagree about the temper-tantrum, but there was no reason to state it in the

I didn't say it to make anyone feel bad. It was just the opposite point of what the OP had asked. Beside the fact, the question is clearly not directed in the assumption that their spouse wants to learn programming. It was directed tha

Why try to get her into it? If she wanted to get into it she would have. It sounds like you are trying to force her into something that she isn't interested in. My fiancee is an incredibly intelligent person who I believe would be an a

Seems to me that the some of whom will invariably be innocent will be significantly low. Saying "just believing" isn't the best phrase the OP could have picked but neither was your rhetoric. It just contributes to the divide

ACM is kind of limiting though. You can only use it with 4 of AWS's services none of which is ec2 directly which limits use cases I would think.

The author says that the AWS ECS AMI they provide is based on ubuntu but it is an amazon linux AMI which is based on centos/rhel.

I think you see this argument used a lot when it comes to Python 3 about it not working so well. I don't see the maintainers changing their minds about EOL on python 2 so either switch to Python 3 or to another language. There is so mu
