Is there a "html reducer" out there? I've been considering writing one. If you take a page's source it's going to be 90% garbage tokens -- random JS, ads, unnecessary properties, aggressive nesting for layout render

Its crazy my iPhone only has 128gb of storage. Its also crazy storing a file on in the cloud is typically $0.01 per gb/month (for R2 at least, iCloud is even more). Someone needs to figure out how to prevent submarket/subproduct p

Im curious, how do data scientists use these massive datasets, especially the old stuff. Is it more of a compliance and need/should-save type thing or is the data actually useful? Im baffled by these numbers having never used a large B

Probably because most Americans live in lower density cities. Fresh food distribution is a lot harder in low density areas, and that is probably why 7-11 focuses on microwavable wings and hotdogs in the US. A good NYC bodega is as stacked a

IMO the more interesting question is "why not fork Chromium"? The corporate effects of a browser monopoly are pretty obvious. The less obvious question, and Im genuinely curious, is why do you need to rewrite the engines when ther

The choice of SQLite is a great one as the distributed sqlite space is also growing. You have things like rqlite (raft+sqlite), and you have cloudservices like CloudFlare D1 which is basically distributed/HA sqlite. Plus you can swap i

It isn't simple. The judgement states that broad implied deference to the agency of the act in question, per Chevron, is incorrect and the courts decide in the those case. There were a ton of arguments that interpretation, in general,

Go channel behaviors are pretty annoying. For one I always forget the panic scenarios (e.g. writing to a closed channel), I feel like the type system could've done more here. I recently wrote a simple function that maps out tasks concu

Thats a good idea. Portfolio of your own verified consumer sentiments. Quick check: iPhone 1 was $500 at launch. Apple shares were $5, apple stocks 41x'd since. If you bought the same amount in shares you'd have $20k, not bad.

TCP overhead is part of the story. Theres 20-40x overhead in syscalls, 20% running a tensorflow project end to end, 50% fewer RPS in redis, etc.
