Not enough users, too ahead of its time (nobody wants full-stack JS application, yet), severe performance issues beyond simple demo. I think the team behind Meteor.js went on to build a new product ( https://www.apollographql.com&

I've considered self-hosting plausible but ultimately decided to pay for subscription instead, because I think self-hosting would cause more in terms of VPS hosting. The minimum requirements (4GB RAM) are too high because of the need t

One thing that matters a lot is the prompt. A good prompt can dramatically improve the performance and quality of the code output from ChatGPT. It took me months of trial and error to optimize the prompt for using ChatGPT to write code. I w

My bet is that the future of software engineering will "shift left" towards product requirement completion rather than focusing on writing raw source code. More emphasis will be on how to translate requirements into software, with

I understand that ISG requires a server (Node.js runtime) to run it, that's why I want to disable it for my SSG Next.js static site, but I can't figure out how. I just want static hosting like S3+Cloudfront which is much faster.

Tell me about it. My simple SSG Next.js static site loads much slower than my Jekyll site on GitHub pages. And I can't figure out how to improve its speed or disable the "ISG" feature that I believe is to be blamed for the po

I think Vercel and Next.js are built by the same group of people, the same people who made Now.sh, started the company (Zeit), then changed product name to Now.sh, then changed company and product name to Vercel.

The real lesson here is that as a founder, don't spend too much time discussing with your users on discord. Gathering feedback good. But getting involved in philosophical discussion or how to run the company looks like a bad idea.

That's exactly how I started as well, I was using a similar workflow to build an AI-driven game. Then I thought maybe it's a good idea to turn it into something less ad-hoc, more user-friendly, and work for any project.
