It's very baffling why, after Russia conducted multiple invasions of bordering countries, the states elsewhere became "US-friendly". Russia is the victim. Yes? Thirteen time zones of territory, and their prime time TV is fill

Does this mean "once the people have a normal life, they won't want a war?" I am seeing the opposite. All dictatorships seem to start getting land conquest ideas once they have the resources. There is a direct correlation bet

Man, I remember I had a crappy Celeron because we were dirt-poor. At some point I finally bought a Voodoo 3, popped it in, and fired up Tomb Raider. I was blown away. The game went from pixelated chop-o-rama to smooth and gorgeous (in those

I wouldn't call the full-time status as "job security". It's healthier to arrange your life and finances in a way that assumes your job can end at any moment. Employers love FT because you pay a fixed salary but you can

The problem is that the very young employees for whom this may be their first job do not have the context. Looking back, I gave away a lot of my work-life balance and health on office heroics to make others look good. It takes working at a

I think the audience is different. I would wager that the intersection between people who consume mindless celebrity TV and listen to informative podcasts is almost non-existent.

Well, I've been using "hard" lists for months now. I only see what I want to see. Works like magic. The day Elon fanboys get "god mode" and lists go away, call the time of death on the whole thing.

Absolutely. Capitalism in fact does not incentivizes destroying companies. Actually, the new broken American capitalism does - squeeze a company for revenue to juice share prices and walk away from the ruins, but that is different. Musk’s b

Can’t say I’ve ever seen one those, but the good old forums were rather small compartments with a limited blast radius. It was a good thing. Mastodon actually is the same idea, so we are going back to the basics, in a way. I would argue tha

This is not new. It has been well-known that the surefire way to get shitcanned with Musk is to utter any remote synonym of "no" or "not possible". The best thing is to just completely avoid meetings where he is present.
