Perhaps less whining about being “cancelled” when what is really happening is that a person is being a tool, then complaining that THEY are the real victim here, and then immediately doubling down on detestable behavior.

That's where I am actually going now. I started reading much more long-form content. I created a list for the people I follow on Twitter and gave someone else the key, effectively rendering Twitter read-only. It is amazing how fast y

This has been a trend in this late stage Capitalism, if you will. A large group of people spend years and decades building a company that can still grow and produce immense wealth over long-term, but a bunch of grifters roll in and sell it

Using the word "regime" is a dead giveaway. Neo-libertarians use it to refer to the "oppressive" laws, norms, and basic human decency. It's in the way of chaos, which they use to extract advantage from.

Amazing to watch a guy troll his way into a corner. Men of privileged background really, really do not know how to deal with this alien to them thing called "consequence". It's just meltdown .

You'd do that if you had spent, like, 5 minutes thinking about this. Apparently Elon's physics major is not easily translating into understanding moderation or social dynamics.

This is literally what it means. It's like the PRO badge on Github. You are paying for Twitter but you do not have to be a real person or who you claim you are.

Twitter uses Scala heavily. It is one of my favorite languages. I love Scala, but it's also sprawling and complex, and requires great care to code for readability without getting too cute. I would expect there is a lot of code at Twitt

I feel like there is way more talk now in general about the current broken state of the Internet, corporatized and designed to inflict productivity-destroying scatter brain on all of us. I started to aggressively use newsletters and digests

Well, first of all, if the Tesla engineers are so brilliant, how come no one brought up the fact that LOC is a useless and even a bad metric? And print out? Printing code was acceptable and common in the 80s and even all the way into the
