I like to code in cpp as a hobby (computer vision stuff) but avoid template programing like the plague. The part of std is already scary stuff with 50 lines of errors for single typo.

Not sure about Rust std. But on cpp I heard a lot low-level companies avoid using its standard library since it is too bloated and optimized for too many cases.

Just FYI: in some languages (like Go iirc) you need to add the subfolder of your monorepo to the workplace in order to LSP to work properly, at least on VSCode.

I dont think this is related to Go tbh. For some reason when it comes to parallelism most of the literature suggests to create a pool with n threads, n being the number of threads that the cpu can run in parallel. This makes sense if the th

Nonono you.missed the part where you add Infra as Code, with requires another 2-3 fulltime yaml engineers to be really vendor agnostic.

Managed k8s is great if you already in the cloud, selfhosting it as a small company is waste of money.

Not sure if evil or not, but it is unprofessional to use a tool that you dont know how much it will cost for your company in the future.

I think it is for devices that are meant to be run for years on battery. I try to find the power consumption but no luck. If it is for that, no sure how useful are they in the age IoT and great MCU for 2 usd.

I only dislike Podman because some distributions used it as an alias for docker which made a lot of docker-compatible software to not work on that distribution unless some workarounds. I wouldnt normally blame the application for this but i

Most people dont need rolling release, 24/7 availability, auto scaling, etc.. on their home server, so managing k8s just add way more complexity. My main reason to not use is because I would need to host a artifact service somewhere el
