This is my second one. Haven't had any problems. The one I'm using now is Crossover 27QD-P. I bought it because it pivots, ironically it doesn't work when pivoted on my older model macbook pro. However, it worked perfectly on

I think you misunderstood my point. I don't want long lines of text, I want multiple columns of short lines.

I recently bought one of those large Korean monitors (2560x1440). Even with 90 degree notation, I can easily fit two columns of code on screen (well, there is space for two columns, no IDE actually does this)

I don't have intellij installed on my computer here, when you say 'split vertically,' do you mean it basically opens two views of same file next to each other, each view scrolling independently? If so, that isn't what I

Since there seem to be some IntelliJ folks here, I'd like to bring up my pet peeve: please take advantage of modern, gigantic _wide_ monitors. It makes no sense for code to be in a single column on the left of the monitor while 2/

I agree as well. I built a small, single page app, http://fixparser.targetcompid.com using knockout. I use knockout fairly heavily and it was easy to pick up for someone like myself, who is not a front-end/web developer. Si

is there a blog framework/platform specifically for developers? I want to show code samples with syntax highlighting (and possibly the ability to actually run the sample code)? is there something which lets me embed d3.js charts? i

This is surprising because I've been using Eclipse every work day for over 10 years and it never gets in an inconsistent state and crashes are even rarer. Perhaps you are using bad plugins...although I've installed plenty of crap plugins an

If you've used both, wouldn't you consider Eclipse and sublime text to be two very different tools? If you want to quickly edit some text, then Eclipse is overkil. If you are going to write programs for 8 hours a day, then Eclipse's benefit

I did install some sort of theme manager for eclipse. It changed the color of the editor, but not rest of eclipse. When I maximised the editor window, it did look nice and felt easier on my eyes. However, when other windows and widgets were

I think this is the main difference between an IDE and an editor. Eclipse adds value by having some sense of your overall project. When you go through the process of setting up a project (for new or existing source), it parses all the file

I'm an eclipse user and love it. I don't understand why so many people hate it. However, I keep hearing, from very respectable developers, that intellij is a far better IDE. Even as I type this, I have an eclipse window open for main develo

I initially deployed my website on s3 but latency was noticeable. google's cloud storage loads the site instantaneously. There are more tools available to upload to S3 but google cloud storage's web admin now provides a way to upload files

Somewhat related, I released the first version of http://datafa.me . It is a web app where you can paste data and generate a chart. Not exactly a charting library, but it will certainly evolve to provide some of the same functionality. I

The author provides an interesting perspective but his argument misses some subtleties. The prohibition of Indian movies in Pakistan has almost nothing to do with religious arguments. It is basic protectionism. That is, if the ban still eve

Interesting analysis. I don't quite understand Go. It isn't actually as low level as C. As far as I know, it can't be used to write operating systems or device drivers. It isn't as fast as Java; it can't even beat node.js in many benchmarks

The usual criticism of high frequency traders doesn't really apply to Knight. Knight is required by law to execute orders that are sent to them, instead of 'investing' in stocks for the long term.
