I had real trouble using autoconf back when the documentation wasn't very good (it may have become more newbie friendly but I'm not sure). In the end I wrote my own configure script in bourne shell. The shell script suited my needs fine and

This looks really cool. It uses Kilim, the lightweight threading library for java, that I hadn't heard of before: http://github.com/kilim/kilim I have been looking for something similar for C but have not been able to find anything.

I was writing a small hobby project (a web email frontend) and abandoned GWT for ExtJS. I got a lot more done with a lot less code. Personally, I find javascript a more powerful language than java for writing event driven applications. The

One of the things I like about google apps is that I can set up a DNS entry to point mail.mydomain.com at google's servers and it puts me straight at the login prompt. It feels good to use it. Would it be possible to do this with Cloudmatic

That looks really cool. I'll be in a position to give it a go in a few months. One thing that would make me hesitate though, is not knowing what the potential pricing would be when you move from non-free.

www.2dparts.com is fine and looks rather cool. I've not used the google app engine and one of the reasons for not using it is that it doesn't handle naked domains very well. Surely there is a way of getting better behaviour than this though

I've seen many systems that use relational databases be patched up with if (null)/then/else in the application where fields have been added and the change was not important enough to justify a data migration. I wouldn't say this practice is

The point of reusing the IV is that identical blocks of data encrypt identically. That's the information that is leaked. That's the behaviour required by rsync to efficiently transfer changes. Is it really so bad?
