Yeah, just my thought. Instead of all the effort and overhead and awful API of Win32 just statically link musl. Still, there are of course downsides and limitations to either approach.

Yeah, that has been the default for a lot of Linux distributions for quite some time now (if you install wine).

Empty slots in arrays are weird. >>> let xs = [,'foo'] <<< undefined >>> xs <<< Array [ <1 empty slot>, "foo" ] >>> xs.map((x, index) => index)

I agree that distributions should make clear what they've changed and link their bug tracker for theming issues. But that's a different stance.

Open source is about taking back control over your software. The sentiment of that website is absurd to me. What I do on/to my own system is nobody else's business. (Though I don't really change much of the theming myself. Ch

Interesting, I don't have that, only one scroll bar. I use on Firefox. Do you force some different font or font size on all websites perhaps?

Why does AGPL Vs MIT matter for a linker?

Well, it's used by the OS when exec-ing a new process, but at least the Linux syscall for that takes the environment as an explicit parameter. So it could be managed in whatever way by the runtime until execve() is called.

Guess that would also require some locking for all the exec() functions that don't take the environment as a parameter or that search PATH for the executable.

I think basic and healthy foods should be VAT exempt. Bread, milk, eggs, vegetables, fruit (maybe not fruit that needs to be shipped from South America or Africa), water etc. Also maybe school books and newspapers and of course medicine. Su

It's wild to me that anything you can buy in a store, especially something frivolous like cake, might be tax free.

I'm not from the UK, but wasn't there also a cake Vs biscuits thing for tax reasons?

Doing that in a single day is impressive. Took me two days to do my much simpler version that just prints it using Unicode symbols for legacy computing.

You need to dump the database on the old PostgreSQL version and then load the dump on the new PostgreSQL version. Some other database servers can just use the old table data or migrate the data files on the fly transparently.

Yeah, but I don't think you need proof of work for this. Something more akin to git with commit signing should work. The thing with cryptocurrencies is that there isn't anything of real value in the Blockchain. If you view git as

Well, I consider that still vastly better for pixel art than it being blurry. If you really want to handle 1.5x resolutions you can scale the image to that resolution yourself in the way you think is best and provide it using srcset.

(Because otherwise it's all blurry on a high DPI monitor.)

On a page like this you should really use the CSS style: img { image-rendering: pixelated; }

I didn't mean nested f-strings. I mean this is a syntax error: >>> print(f"foo {"bar"}") SyntaxError: f-string: expecting '}' Only this works: >>> print(f"foo {&#x

Indeed in some of the listed languages you can nest it like that, but in others (e.g. Python) you can't. I would guess they deliberately don't want to enable that and it's not a problem in their parser or something.

The only place where this is relevant for me is running old Windows games via wine. Wonder how wine is handling this? Might as well re-map the date for 32bit wine to the late 90s/early 2000s, where my games are from. Heck, with faketim

Reminds me of that Chaos Communication Congress talk about a blog/web server written in C, but with a bunch of security features (immutable storage, dropped privileges, blog has no access to TLS certificate, etc.): https://w
