What works for me is blocking time in my calendar. Also this makes you aware of the limits that your life is currently imposing (sleep, work, family, friends) and what you can achieve or not. Like, trying to get to run from 0 to 10k while

I had the occasion to see him at a little place in Madrid specialised on magic shows a couple of decades ago ("La Cripta Magica"). He was already a legend by then after years and years of TV apparitions here in Spain. After the s

On macOS, I don’t use browser bookmarks any more. I just drag from the address bar to a specific iCloud Drive folder as a.weblog file. Its slightly cumbersome, but then you get sync and browser independence, which is nice.

I am not saying that all the people I hired were x10 performers, but they were certainly better than average, imho, with a leaner process. For example I did not hire anyone that lacked basic coding skills. Perhaps I am a great interviewer

That's why during interviews I preferred to put my hacker hat instead of more corporate-business-look-how-big-we-are-this-is-our-vision-bullshit.

I did quite a bit of interviews (on the hiring side) for almost a decade and I find the current recruitment processes to be basically stupid and over-complicated --both for the applicant and the employer is a huge waste of time. Look, if yo

Just in case someone is curious, from my archive this MIDI file is from Aug, 1994 (!!!) and renders like this: https://soundcloud.com/pantulis/swing-out-sister-breakout

If you don't update your iPad, if apps stop working it's because the app developer has declared your iPad obsolete probably because older APIs are not supported. It's not something about the iPad or Apple per se. It's h

Yup, design people are very fond of things like Miro, but this is very behind that. Here's hoping that some Diagrams-like capabilities are added to this (yes, I am aware of unofficial plugins for Excalidraw or Draw.io)

I collected them from FTP sites and still keep them (later on vanbasco.com made hoarding MIDIs unnecessary) One of my guilty pleasures is to get a well done MIDI file from that era and render it using my Kronos and Logic loaded with NI, Art

Also, performance is mind-blowing. Still I am not really sure that the tradeoff makes it worth against non-FP frameworks a la Rails.

I am curious, what do you think is what holds Rails from being useful for going beyond the MVP. In 15 years I've seen my fair share of Rails projects going to production and keep evolving with the business, and not in the startup worl

I believe much of the love for Modula-2 comes not from the language, but the development environment from ex-Borland Jensen & Partners, TopSpeed Modula-2. It was even better than the Turbo suite from Borland.
