What is the definition of "create"? For example what if I wrote a program to open the original file, examine the shapes of the fonts, then write them to a new file? That would essentially be copy-pasting the file, wouldn't it? But how is t

Hmmm.... Did you test it to confirm? Are you sure that one line of code is all that's necessary to get that specific demo correctly working with Internet Explorer? What about keyboard input? (Canvas is only one piece of the demo.)

Question --- I haven't done much webdev stuff so this may sound silly, but --- why can't PMs work that way? Like, why can't I send markbao a private message by sending an email to markbao@news.ycombinator.com? And then the site could forw

In app.h, you should forward-declare "typedef struct bintree_t bintree;" Then, in each source file that #includes "app.h" and also CALLS binary-tree-related functions , you #include "bintree.h". Like I said, this is more of a concern in C

That's a naive viewpoint. It's more of a concern in C++ ... if your codebase grows to massive proportions, and you #include headers within headers, then modifying a header can result in ~60% of your codebase being rebuilt. (At work, I dea

Namespacing is nice but not sufficient. What you want are examples sorted by usage. An object, function, etc, can only be in exactly one namespace. e.g. "File" or "Net", but not both. What if a class can be used to accomplish multiple g
