Thanks for the info. However, what I really want is a simple "here is how to render a webpage with webkit" tutorial. (FYI I would be using .NET WinForms, so I doubt there's much open-source love.)

This is epic. Thank you! Offtopic: I have always wanted a tutorial for "Here is how to embed WebKit into your C++ application" (to make your own toy web browser). I realize rendering a webpage is only one very tiny component of a browser

By how fun they are. As people. I'm convinced the only real-world metric that matters is "how much other people want to work with you". Being an easygoing, fun person facilitates that dramatically.

The only objective and repeatable metric of programmer productivity is if a single programmer is assigned the task of delivering a tool or component, from scratch, by himself. His productivity is the inverse of the time to delivery. And th

How do you "install" a game? For example, let's say you have 150MB of art assets. You wouldn't want players to have to re-download the assets each time they go to play. So how would you cache: 1) a texture, 2) a vertex+index buffer?

What I'm saying is that RGB(128,128,128) is not halfway between RGB(0,0,0) and RGB(255,255,255), in the same way that a 4.0 earthquake is not halfway between a 0.0 earthquake and an 8.0 earthquake. The scale is non-linear. As far as I can s

You are missing my point. From a physical standpoint , it makes no sense to add two RGB colors. It makes sense to add two lengths. (1 inch) + (1 inch) = (2 inches). It does not make sense to add two RGB colors. The result is not a me

My point was that you can't add two RGB values and expect to get a meaningful physical result --- you can't multiply them either, as far as I know. This has vast implications for computer graphics. Video games, for example. "Light wave fr

Very informative, thank you! Something I've been mulling over for awhile now is... what does it mean to represent a color with numbers? That is, every pixel on our monitor is RGB 0 through 255. But what about in physics? Well, "color" i

I've been thinking about faster-than-light communication recently. Consider gravity. Is its effect instantaneous? That is, gravity varies as the inverse of the square distance between two bodies. If, say, the Earth were to suddenly get m
