So ChatControl was accepted and is in the process of being implemented is what you say?

Before thinking about corruption or malice, I like to try to assume good faith. And I see a couple things: 1. Most people don't write. 2. The people who write are not always competent. 3. The people who write often have an agenda, too.

Where did you write? Is there a link or something you could share? I am not in the EU so I assume I can't, but would be nice to share a link so that other EU citizen could write. If enough people write, they may start finding it releva

I am not sure if you genuinely don't see what you miss or if you purposely ignore it because it helps your argument. Nobody says "we ban it for children and then expect them to use it responsibly". Just like for cigarettes. I

But again: if all the kids are on social media, is it enough for "good parent" to tell their kid that they should not go there? From what I remember from being a kid myself, it definitely is not.

It's probably even simpler than that: say normal users make a few requests once in a while (because they don't need thousands of tokens every day), and one user makes a ton of requests, then it is an indication that this user may

It was always possible to install Android alternatives, GPLv3 has nothing to do with it. I have nothing against GPLv3 of course, but this is just not true. Remote attestation is the thing preventing the app from running on your Android alte

Right, can we agree on "extremists" then? Takes the far-left, far-right, far-authoritarian and far-libertarian altogether.

I think there is a sane debate to have around whether or not we want privacy-preserving age verification, indeed. And how much of a "foot in the door" it is (is it building more surveillance technology, or is it actually building

My argument is: it is possible to do privacy-preserving age verification, and that technology is already deployed (look at Privacy Pass). We should acknowledge that and stop claiming that the age verification issue is the same as the E2EE o

Yep, I think this would be a totally valid debate. But my frustration is that it's not there at all. We're at "people make it sound like it's technologically impossible, like the ChatControl for E2EE". It feels like

There is no reason to talk about that system: it's nonsense. It's like inventing a bad encryption protocol and discuss about why it is bad. Better learn about the good one, but I guess it's harder than making up nonsense.
