I feel like the above definitely needs to be addressed by management. When your thoughts are unheard and there is no chance to get through it can be highly demotivating as you are undervalued. I would raise with manager.

8gb seems quite small in the grand scheme of things. Storage is fairly cheap nowadays. I'm sure there will be other concerns with scaling when you do hit the 1 billion mark.
