Tech is fashion driven. Ten years ago it was Hadoop/SVM/MongoDB, five years ago Spark/CNN/Neo4j. If today you appear at the door with Nomad/MCMC/Riak, you will be looked down. We are expecting something like K8

If you want to reduce you intake of animal produce but still have fatty meals your choices are limited. Avocado, olives, nuts and some oils are exploding in popularity due to this I believe.

I have seen this first-hand before. Corps with good salaries but no public ranges. Every time they have to hire out of core competencies and the local market is not too strong for the roles, it can take up to a year for the whole process.

Even smaller ones are not immune. I found myself in the same situation in Cambridge and Venice. Cambridge one was very, very sketchy.

You totally can. I have seen people living in them for months. To learn a language, or in party hostels to enjoy the summer. When I was young spending a few weeks in a hostel was my favorite way to spend time between house hunting in a new

I think I know who you are talking about. He was unfailingly polite with me, but it was very clear that he was not very interested too. I also was coming back from a semi-academic position. Do not be very hard on you (or him). Every job ope

This is fascinating to me. Is there any particular kind of profile that hired you as a ghostwriter? Do these people know how to do their work and decide to outsource it or they have no clue and just got lucky in the interviews?

This is something that I never learnt how to do with Xterm, I put the keybinding in Bash: bind -x '"\C-T": _terminal_here' I would love to know how to execute a command from Xterm directly, I am sure that it is possible.

What do you mean by scrollbar? Xterm has a scrollbar, and you can customize it with plenty of options. Tabs I agree that it may be a showstopper for some, however in X you can use suckless tabbed to add support: https://tools.suc

I started web dev in 2012 with a MEAN stack. Now I work with a LAMP stack. I deal with far less migrations and dead packages, but that's probably because Node.js was not very mature back then. The real question is why someone like me s

Exactly. You end up cobbling together half a dozen plugins (auth, forms, orm, admin) and adding dependencies that, albeit useful, are complex themselves: Celery, SQLAlchemy, etc.

Prioritize games without grinding or fluff. Short games or skill based. Start with games that can be finished in an day or afternoon: Mirror's Edge 1, Braid, Machinarium, Hotline Miami 1... And if you do not enjoy games anymore, that&#

I am not 100% sure that people got over it. Facebook lost me over changes to their feed: 1. Linear to non-linear 2. You need to pay to reach all your subscribers. 3. News, ads, noise in general. I think is very common for free apps to reduc

My personal laptop has 4Gb of RAM and terrible CPU (HP Stream 14). I only need more when I run an IDE or HD video. For lots of cases, 1Gb-2Gb of RAM and some computing power is more than enough.
