It’s not absurd, I’ve seen it happen. Company executes on their DR plan due to AWS outage, AWS is back before DR is complete, DR has to be aborted, service is down longer than if they’d just waited. Of course there are cases when multi clou

If your mitigation for that risk is to have an elaborate plan to move to a different cloud provider, where the same problem can just happen again, then you’re doing an awful job of risk management.

Planning for an AWS outage is a complete waste of time and energy for most companies. Yes it does happen but very rarely to the tune of a few hours every 5-10 years. I can almost guarantee that whatever plans you have won’t get you fully op

The apply* ?thing is kinda hard to parse, would turn me off seeing lots of that in a codebase.

Yeah I think it’s fair to say that in many circumstances people would use masculine as a pejorative and not get called out for being sexist. There’s some historic power imbalance stuff at play there, but it’s still sexist. If you have probl

So you’re saying I could post a picture of Xi Jinping and say our country is broken because we’re lead by an idiot who looks like Winnie the Pooh while posting some ai mash up of the two and it would be fine? Even if it gained traction and

I’m very unsympathetic to making China some boogeyman intent on world domination, but I have to say that speaking out against the government isn’t exactly welcomed with open arms there.
