I agree. I don't read comic books, barely watch sci-fi, play board games. I play sports and do stuff outside. I often feel like an outcast when I'm talking to a bunch of programmers and they veer off into sci-fi talk.

I hope to have a colorful enough online profile to prevent myself from ever getting a boring, stifling job.

dunder is a wonderful way to pronounce "double underscore" methods. It saves a lot of time and syllables.

Finally. I had a similar idea. I wanted to start or have access to a company called Fuck You Pay Me. They would be contract salary negotiators that developers hire to negotiate their salary.

Creating a new language that handles concurrency and pointer bugs in a systematic way that is also fast is amazing. Writing a new browser engine in said language is very ambitious and important.

This is really exciting. I'm glad to see rust being used for serious apps. This is actually the first new browser engine that I know of being written in the past 10 years. Good for Mozilla for attempting hard problems in innovative ways.

I love emacs, I really do. It is really hard to share customizations with git for emacs in my experience. Right now I'm using prelude + some customizations. I can keep my fork of the prelude repo on my account, and add stuff to /personal

Bokeh has three components. BokehJS runs in the browser, the Bokeh server and the Bokeh Python client library. BokehJS draws plots in the browser with canvas. BokehJS maintains a data model of plot models (plots, renederers of different ty

We are working to build open source software for them that meets their needs. I think they are making an investment in the sense that any customer is invested in the outcome of a project. It wasn't a VC investment.

What is your use case? Have you looked at Numba? There are guarantees about memory that can be made with Fortran that can't be expressed with C. Numba is trying to bring the same type of optimizations to NumPy python code, because it does

Add better support for keyboard shortcuts. I use firefox every day and I still prefer it to chrome because it has better keyboard shortcuts, but they could be better still. 1. I can't disable Ctrl-P/Cmd-P that maps to print screen. I us
