The CP2077 comparison is not hyperbole - it is literally how badly this game performs (or at least performed on launch) on top-tier gaming hardware (namely RTX 4090). I linked a source with the quote.

InstaLOD is only used in the asset pipeline. I haven't seen any references to real-time use. Haven't found any evidence of real-time decimation either. To be clear there are LODs, but only for some of the meshes.

jQuery is not a framework by any definition of the word. It's a collection of largely unnecessary (in modern times) utility functions for imperative DOM manipulation.

Skyrim and Fallout 4 were made with about 100 people each. Witcher 3 had about 250 developers, and Cyberpunk 2077 closer to 500. Larian's Baldur's Gate 3 team has over 400 people, 10 times the developers they had for Divinity: Ori

This is a an unrealistic thing to expect or ask for. The new game uses a different art style, significantly alters the mechanics and uses the latest version of Unity, as opposed to Unity 5 from 2015. If they included every single DLC, they&

Little nitpick, but :not() is not a new feature by most definitions of new. It has been in browsers for over a decade (closer to 15 in browsers not related to IE), which is an eternity in the world of web technology.

Hyper is a relatively low level HTTP library, while Rocket is a web server framework. So Hyper doesn't concern itself with things like routing, authentication, state management, template rendering, static file hosting and so on, which

Ah, that's the interesting bit: the actual simulation was 100% local. Networking was actually only required for region play, and I don't think it even communicates in real-time; just occasionally syncs certain variables between ci

Is this something that actually happens (= can anyone prove this by disassembling the app or MITMing the network traffic), or is it just unfounded paranoia?

Technically speaking it is OK to pass two aliasing mut _pointers_ to a (safe) Rust function because safe Rust can't do anything dangerous with raw pointers; both dereferencing and writing through a raw pointer require unsafe. If we are
