I've seen the exact same issue in some Dell PowerConnect switches. We only saw the issue when using the "iSCSI Auto-Config" mode. Manually configuring the switches with the same config but entered by hand resolved the issue.

It could also be an attack against one of their customers, again for the same reasons. DNS is a very weak point of the overall system so a very good place to target.
