We have had advertisers/advertising networks refuse to work with us until we added it. I don't know if that counts, but it sure makes it difficult to opt out if you depend on ad revenue.

I haven't played the game, so I'm a bit confused: what parts of the story are slyly referring to Valve itself rather than the HL3 story? How do you get "welp, looks like HL3 is cancelled" based on this story?

I don't care what the legal definition of PHI is, I am concerned that Mozilla is collecting actual personal health information (if not through URLs, the domain name concern is still valid). And I know that DNS resolution is not necessa

What do you mean, a URL must not contain PHI? You can't prevent a non-tech minded person from submitting questions about their health to any text field linked to a form with a GET method. I'd argue that domains are the same- there

It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. The higher-up should have announced himself that he had made the decision. For Pao to say this herself might come off as petty or overly defensive.

What specific behaviors of Pao would you compare to the constant harassment and mistreatment she experienced at KP? From my recollection, most of the criticism she received was related to poor decisions she made at Reddit, and it has since

I think that Europeans often have a skewed idea of American food, comparing modern European food to what American food was like 30 years ago. Every major brand of food in the US has been on a continuous cycle of improvement, reducing artifi

Yeah, but load speed is, and imagine how skewed and unfair it is for Google to load an AMP page from its own cache and compare that to loading a page from someone else's (possibly objectively faster) site. And Google doesn't consi

This argument would hold more water if these services didn't constantly rely on dark patterns to trick people into making things public that they otherwise would have preferred to be private.

I'd disagree, I've filed probably 15 in the past 7 years for obscure bugs and all of them were fixed. They don't respond and the fixes take a long time, but I'm pretty sure they are listening.

That's strange. I only see AMP pages now, and I have only ever seen AMP pages in the carousel for at least the past couple of months. Maybe they're doing some kind of A/B test for some users.

In my opinion, the reason it makes the web less free and open is because Google has a de-facto monopoly on search and they're abusing it to force you host your content on their domain and to use proprietary technology in order to recei

You can render React server-side on first page load, though, and there will be no lag waiting for the page to render and initialize. I think that most people don't do it because there is extra work involved, but IMO if you're a hu
