That’s actually poorly written on their part. I did assume they were using an ORM Python library, not that ORM is somehow implicit in Python. But after rereading it, I can see how someone without any Python experience might think otherwise.

I’m coming from an ex-Soviet country and you don’t know how delusional you are about this. edit: If you’re in certain power circles, you are just as untouchable as western oligarchs. Moral and laws are for the proles.

Yeah, I saw this comment [0] and I'm very confused as to how one concludes there is a botnet in play, let alone by a public institution. Most likely it is an employee in the police, which is totally fine. They're not forbidden to

I think this is the logical next step, but I feel like it won’t be based on the EU but assembled entirely parallel by some of EU‘s members, and this seems consequential to me.

Oh, it’s very well recognized. You can check the Mario Draghi report or even recent comments by ECB‘s Christine Legarde. I think it’s mostly reluctance to make big structural changes that seems to be the issue right now.

I tried to use LLMs to help me with server-side pb coding, but it was mostly a flop. LLMs don't have an up-to-date state of pb's API. 2 out of 3 times the LLM would give at least a hint how to go about something and the rest is me

My thinking as well. If people don’t like Microsoft, the last place to start their quixotic adventure would be GitHub. I don’t use Azure or Windows. At work I push against Teams and actively try to persuade customers not to use Microsoft pr

I'm still relatively new to Go, but I've never seen closures used that often thus far in production code. Is it really a common practice?

What is your definition of memory issues? Of course you can have memory corruption in Java. The easiest way is to spawn 2 threads that write to the same ByteBuffer without write locks.

While I agree, in practice they can actually be parallel. Case in point - the Java Vert.x toolkit. It uses event-loop and futures, but they have also adopted virtual threads in the toolkit. So you still got your async concepts in the toolki

Indeed. To me it still looks kind of fishy, because the author doesn't have a single other C project on github. The blog post reference is the only thing that makes it somewhat legit, to me at least.

I used to self-host Gogs on an RPi half a decade ago. At least for the needs of 1-2 people, it was one of the best pieces of software I ever used. If someone needs to host their repos privately, Gogs is more than enough.

Google Maps has a practical value. I know why I use it - I want to get to somewhere, I open the app, type my destination and I'm given a route. Most of the times it has worked very well, in numerous different countries that I visited.
