I can imagine that you have built some sort of strong followers community to promote your books? I mean how do readers find your books?

Not a bad idea. Congrats! I was thinking of building something like this but rather for people I follow on GitHub: their contributions, comments, PRs and so on. A kind of a way to learn from one’s GH peers.

I'm sorry if I implied that I do solo work with Java or j2me. That was/is rarely the case. But I don't really understand your point about idiomatic. Modern (new) languages, like Kotlin or Go, are less intended for teamwork or

Funny, I write both Java and Kotlin code. My Java code has 0 AbstractProxyServiceBuilderFactory classes. But then again, I don’t follow the common Spring culture. In one of my earliest jobs, I used to write j2me games. The code had 0 new al

Very nice! Seems easy enough to use. I went overboard with the config.yml and custom templates on my side [0]. My goal is a Jekyll drop-in replacement. Btw, I love how your Contributing section resembles what I wrote in my Readme. :) 0 -

Me and QB had so much fun together. I would come home from school, have something to eat and then get back to programming one of my dozens of game ideas that usually went nowhere near being completed. I remember how I spent one Christmas pl

FWIW, your comment describes exactly how I will feel once I finish my ongoing Golang static blog site generator. Sigh , I guess I should get back to my GitHub repo and fulfill my destiny.

Uhm, I’m honestly curious, who do you think is doing the segregation of Roma?

Actually, I think his comment was a spot on: > They have a tight sense of community and most of them never assimilate wherever they go and barely make effort to speak the local language. This has been my impression as well. The Roma seem

Notarization was IMO the first big step towards this. To this day I have not heard anyone, neither devs nor users, wanting this feature. And to devs it has only costed misery and money.

Or they could have had the YouTube links in another file, not part of the repo, and only download and parse it when tests are run.

„Vert.x is fun!“ I’ve used it in 2 Java products so far. Great stuff and great work. Not everything is perfect, but I do have fun with it.

At this point I'm pretty sure we'll actively destroy most other species and irreversibly pollute the environment which will render it not hospitable for us to live. If that is true, then my guess is that the only viable solution i

Exactly. I still find the „proof of work“ a total waste of computational energy. I mean I believe I understand why it’s required, but it just seems like such a waste. Someone please correct me if I talk jiberish.

Let me be the second person then. Jira is way ahead of TFS and I worked extensively with TFS in my last job. That could just be me though.

This sounds bad! We use 4 of their products on premises. We definitely can’t use Jira or Confluence in the cloud due to customer data privacy. I‘m eager to see what my bosses will decide.

Yeah, that’s horrible. It’s like Spring Boot is the holy grail or something. People should really invest time in researching other frameworks.

Exactly. This is what people bashing Java just don’t seem to understand. Training a new Java employee on an existing code base is far cheaper than on a C/C++ codebase. Speaking from personal experience.

I kind of do have "fun" with GH. I follow people and see what repos they have starred, or code/issues they're working on. I also follow repos and check the source code that's being committed from time to time. Just

I’m thankful for PHP. I don’t use it on regular basis or even as my main programming language, but I do use it for side gigs and smaller projects to earn extra cash. It’s fast, easy to get into and does the job for me.
