I really dislike kickstand style laptop/tablet designs, a proper hinge is stable even on oddly shaped surfaces, doesn't collapse when picked up, can be used while sitting on the palm of your hand etc.

How was "put thing on my sweaty workout face that 30 other people have put on their sweaty workout faces today" not an immediate sign that this was a bad idea right at the start? It doesn't matter that they supposedly kill th

Wouldn't being underwater make you slower just due to the extra resistance of water vs air?

My naive assumption would be that it would be a fairly gradual process. You'd just always have a sliding window of the last N years of memories, with the older ones being progressively more fuzzy and unreliable.

One package management feature that not even the really good languages seem to have is synchronizing dependency versions across multiple packages, usually in the context of a monorepo. Like if my codebase has webapp A, library A and library

Yeah I very rarely rebase, just autosquash PR commits into one on merge to master (and also delete the source branch to avoid similar headaches) + making sure PRs are fairly small and focused. Regular merges where commits have been cherry p

As long as you never ever cherry-pick from one branch to another when the source branch is intended to eventually be actually merged (directly or indirectly) into the destination branch I think it has its use cases. If you break this rule

I prefer the exact same approach for learning to play board games too. Your 20 minutes of rules explanation will go completely over my head unless you start with "the goal/win condition of the game is to get more points/reach

Id argue that's exactly why we should look at per capita data, otherwise people and companies from smaller countries look at the data and throw their hands up in the air and do nothing because (some big country) dwarfs the numbers from

I'd be much more interested in needing less unit tests with stronger typing than avoiding needing stronger typing by writing more unit tests. The former seems like much less work.

Not quite as technologically involved, but there are some disc based games with novel uses of disc swapping. Monster Rancher is a monster breeding game where you get new monsters via inserting any other disc into the console.
