If there are microbes on Mars, then studying them could tell us a lot about life on Earth. So far, we're trying to extrapolate from a single example. The most interesting result would be to discover that Mars life is unrelated to Eart

A lot of those crashes are probably running executable code that the attacker hasn't bothered to write yet.

What is "routed power"? If you zoom out, a datacenter converts electricity into >99% heat and <1% blinky lights.

I already said upthread that pollution deaths are a drop in the bucket. Modern gasoline engines are pretty clean, if you ignore the enormous future effects of CO2.

> (c) 10 million air pollution deaths/year That's a drop in the bucket compared to the plausible future deaths from climate change. Burning gasoline moves carbon from the ground into the air, and we basically have no idea how

Yes, but you usually have to choose hardware that's a couple generations behind, in order to run OpenWrt.

I think the branches only merge if they're similar enough to merge by random chance. That means no meaningful transfer of memories, per the "no communication theorem" for quantum entanglement. Why would the universe be more

That's going to be difficult with current battery chemistry. Maybe a Cybertruck/zeppelin hybrid?

If the goal is to raise the sauce/carbs ratio, then I wonder if it's possible to make pasta with air bubbles to reduce its density. Gyroid infill would probably be delicious.

Per my other comment, we could define LAN to be the abbreviation for interNAL, because INT was already taken.

The problem is that .internal is the bureaucratically correct answer, and not all internal networks are LANs. Maybe they can reserve both .interNAL and its convenient abbreviation, which just happens to be written backwards because it'

Eh, .internal is fine, but it's 8 characters to type. I'll probably keep using .lan until someone else takes it.

There are reasons to suspect that the many-worlds hypothesis might be true, but none of them have anything to do with the content of our dreams. Trying to explain everyday experience using quantum mechanics usually leads to pseudoscientific

I found that I could land cleanly about 95% of the time, but the other 5% I would (e.g.) trip over the pedals and launch the unicycle off in some random direction. Luckily it never hit anything expensive.
