You are naive if you think you have 10-15 years. GPT-5 will most likely be out by the end of the year. It will be significantly better than GPT-4. I expect it will replace millions of people - not explicitly - companies will gradually have

Mine doesn’t, but I bought it 4 years ago. Not sure about newer models. Best to go to Costco and test it if you’re worried.

Also, I remember when 20 years ago people said building transistors smaller than 45nm will be impossible.

At least they built a PoC. Many others just do simulations.

The safest AI is an AI that is a complete asshole Careful, some day (probably sooner than we expect) one of these models will be deciding who to kill: https://arxiv.org/abs/2402.01786

It's more like top 10% get 7 digit salaries, and the remaining 90% get by on upper 6 digits. Keep in mind there are probably only a couple thousand of "high end LLM researchers/mathematitions etc. who would really build LLMs&

If OpenAI or DeepMind makes such claim I'd pay attention. Otherwise it's always some (usually hw) guys trying to get a grant, or even just publish a paper. p.s. People interested in biologically inspired data processing algorithms

This means they use Spiking Neural Networks. It’s a software algorithm that most likely doesn’t work as well as regular NNs.

Exactly what I was thinking. Note however that most neurons in your brain never get replaced naturally. An interesting extension of this idea is to replace one biological neuron with two digital copies, doing the same thing in parallel. Eve

I hope it will be possible to digitize my brain one neuron at a time, preserving the continuity of my consciousness.

I don't think there is any real demand for high end LLM researchers/mathematitions etc. who would really build LLMs You couldn’t be more wrong. Such people make 7 digit salaries, either at FAANGs or at unicorn startups. It’s the

To be fair, I’d probably answer in a similar manner given a question like this from a 17yo. Better than “rtfm” answers I got when I was learning to code.

I expect they release GPT-4.5 in the next couple of months. It should have a longer context, and better benchmark results, but not dramatically better than GPT-4. It will probably be just enough to reclaim the crown. I do expect a lot more

What you described is what some of the recent startups are working on: https://www.rewind.ai (I’m not associated with them). To me it seems like a rather trivial problem to solve, compared to creating an LLM in the first place.

Regardless of what you use, you should have a clear idea of what you plan to accomplish in the next n days. And you need to communicate this information to your manager. If you have done that, and the manager agrees it’s a reasonable object

No, the purpose of sprint planning is to specify (more ot less) exactly what you plan to do this sprint. Usually the best case scenario. You make your best effort to finish the things you outlined, sometimes you manage to do it, sometimes y
