Main point is that there is many more lines of code of CRUD business apps running on AWS and instances of applications than even non-autonomous car software even though we do have lots of cars.

Key part is *where reliability matters*, there are not that many cases where it matters. We tell stories of Therac 25 but 90% of software out there doesn’t kill people. Annoys people and wastes time yes, but reliability doesn’t matter as mu

I thought it was exaggerated but reading the archive, yeah that’s something that should not pass even glancing over by public communication person, or even like any manager like senior product manager…

As much as I know the story MSFT was basically driving limousines in front of Borland headquarters and showering developers with money to jump the ship. When web apps took off there was nothing that would save Delphi. Web stack was awful ba

It is first time I see name of that project. I don't know anyone who is involved in that project. On Wikipedia I see it "shadow library launched by pseudonymous Anna". "Anna's archives official torrents only" -

There are people who write genuinely interesting stuff there as well. I use block option there quite a lot. That cleans up my experience rather well.

Yes VUE is quite a descendant of knockout.js. People confidently write strong opinions on the internet.

Thanks GPT but I know all of that. I was expecting some eye opening new evidence because person I was asking seemed really confident and using strong words. But that’s just generic „blablabla”. MVVM is not a mistake and is still plenty usef

You have any more sources on MVVM being a mistake? I found WPF rather nice to work with. Same with knockout.js and Angular I don’t see much downsides. Everyone can write bad code of course in each of them but I think it was working quite we

This argument against .NET annoys me. Because that’s pretty much any freaking thing - oh Python, oh PHP, oh driving a fork lift, oh driving a car. Once you invest time in using and learning it is non issue. I do get pissed off when I want t

Co workers always have issues like their WiFi being crap, all kinds of other issues. Once they reboot all goes away. If they would reboot once a week they would save couple hours of cursing and being annoyed every week.

Wonder how many people don’t even shut down their work computer. I shut down work computer every day and every day in the morning I start it up. Sometimes if I really have something I didn’t finish and want to start on early in the morning

I agree but there are downsides like shallow feedback. There still going to be loads of explanation because „just a button” can have loads of stuff behind it like staring whole processing pipeline that is not visible for non tech people.
