I just keep typing "yum", since it's an alias of dnf (albeit with an annoying nag message) and since I work on CentOS servers a lot and am automatically used to typing "yum".

Do the developers have an explanation anywhere as to how this happened? The homepage ( https://transmissionbt.com/ ) has a big red warning to upgrade to 2.91, but I can't find any info about how someone went about putt

That show also featured files somehow getting deleted by the remote party as they were being uploaded via FTP, and an enormous porn network apparently having no backups. I wouldn't take things on that show as an accurate description of

To be quite honest, I wish a lot of app developers _would_ do that, and then maybe Apple would loosen up a bit.

Should probably make it a little bit more obvious that this isn't an official website; the way the logo appears at the top right now makes it look way too official.

Nothing terribly interesting here, just their internal forks of WebKit and Qt. They're clearly only publishing these to satisfy licenses (both those projects are LGPL). I love the idea of open-source games, but EA is probably the last

My suggestion, if you really want to overkill and knock it out of the park: use both. Run it through bcrypt, then through Argon2. If something happens where one of them is deemed insecure/bad practice, you've still got the other o

Title is misleading -- this appears to be an issue with a tool called socat, not with OpenSSL. That's a world of a difference in the severity of the issue.

Why not? Things break. Electricity is one of those magical things that's very hard to have insanely good uptime -- frankly, it's incredibly impressive that power outages aren't more common. And why would GitHub not disclose t

Google Play Music - my favorite music collection service. Same price as Spotify ($10/month), but with the bonus of being able to upload 50,000 of your own song files (for any oddball music you have that isn't in their collection)

Total shock reading this article, not noticing the author, and suddenly seeing textadventures.co.uk, a site where I wasted plenty of hours in middle or high school. Really awesome to see that Alex Warren has gotten a job he loves since then

Sorry, won't be reading this article or any other on your site until you disable smooth scrolling (or at least move the smooth scrolling logic into a separate smooth-scroll.js file so uBlock catches it and disables it).

I have some weekly-updated government datasets I have to pull in. I'd love to automate it, but government tends not to run their websites with automation in mind, so the file names tend to be different every week, and the day it update

Dunno bout iOS but I know Java's built-in HTTP library requires you do something like `if (status<400) { stream = getResponseStream() } else { stream = getErrorStream()}`. It's so silly.

Same here, currently relying on Charles. If Betwixt can add HTTPS support, I'd be all for jumping ship. (as it stands, HTTPS support is the only reason I paid for Charles instead of just making do with Wireshark)
