There's been a boom in France as well in crowdfunded equity. A startup I did some work for did it, and were happy with the results.

A dark filter of some kind ? Can be as simple as smoked glass. The ones manufactured for modern photography are called Neutral Density filters, and they're available in a variety of f-stops, but the intensity reduction is insufficient

I guess they did very well to lay off the people who thought of it as a science project, because it's obviously an engineering project! All the science needed to make it work already exists, it's just a question of hammering it to

Retransmits and congestion are not bad by nature - they're a symptom that the network is being heavily used. Edit: never mind, misread the test, his tools clearly show goodput (good, desirable throughput) going down in congestion. Lowe

Is it irony or something else that a system of supposed vast computing power and learning (and certain real world power via its distribution of search riches) is broken by a tiny thing like this fix for a missing slash ?

Off topic, but the second comment from Jason is pure gold. He's calling Philip Greenspun (of Greenspun's tenth law fame), a "Harvard Lawyer of unknown programming provenance". I can see how blog hostnames can confuse peo

What do you mean by real time delivery ? Instant delivery ? Real time delivery tracking ? For Amazon Prime users, I could very well see returns piggybacking on deliveries - the delivery courier would simply pick up the return.

Those programmers were arguably 10x or 100x programmers, not run-of-the-mill. They made a choice to work on new technology, solving a hard problem. And then put in the effort, probably with little handholding, and managing the uncertainty.

I'm afraid everyone giving robber barons and their ilk as counter-examples is misreading the essay. PG states that he works on the premise that a new non-zero-sum game of wealth creation is afoot, as exemplified by tech startups. In th
