While most of my clothing is 100% cotton or wool, embarrassingly I had never even thought of this outcome. Is there really any hope at this point? Plastics are just way too pervasive. We'll need finer and finer filters everywhere in th

Zuckerberg wanted power, not money, that's the difference. Only a fool turns down a billion dollars. That's live the rest of your life doing whatever the hell you want money. Holding out for more billions won't change that.

Whatever it takes not to see Jimmy Wales' sad puppy dog mug begging for $5 donations at the top of every page.

There is only one Solar System, ours :) The rest are star systems. It's unfortunate that it took all these years to reignite the passion in space travel though.

Been using it for a couple years. Not aware of any cloud based account, there isn't a single mention of that anywhere. It's just a standalone mail client. I could be wrong though!

Compared to most other mail apps mentioned, $50 isn't tiny by a factor of about 4-5x. Is that a lifetime license? While it may be nothing to you, $50 is significant money for a lot of people!

$50!?

I love https://www.uniboxapp.com/ , mainly for the way it treats mail as a continuing conversation like iMessage. It hasn't been updated in a while, but works well. I can't go back to the dreaded thread layout of m

Does that store mail on their servers at all? It's becoming increasingly confusing as to which of these new mail clients require a 3rd party server for them to do their "magic" on.

Exactly my first inclination reading the headline. Why is a tax company entering the e-scooter game? Unfortunate naming. I'm guessing they'd like everyone to pronounce them as taksēfi, not taksifi

Inflammable is everywhere in India, I honestly hadn't seen that word used to describe flammable things!

The article is about New York, but I keep Bluetooth off unless I need it, which is almost never. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"I don't know anyone who physically displays their tag on the windshield all the time." If you do, then stow it in your glovebox if concerned about privacy.

by overcast 8y ago
Simply stowing it away in a glove box like most people do prevents any reader from getting at it. I don't know anyone who physically displays their tag on the windshield all the time.

The fact that there is an entire Medium article on how to "get started" essentially guarantees it's a non starter.

Was that from actually using Reddit daily though? Or just Googling, and using Reddit as a result?

Decided this time I'm just taking the iPhone Upgrade Plan path, and treating the phone as a service. $55 a month interest free, and a new phone ever year + roughly $500 yearly trade in. Also comes unlocked, and without carrier contract

I have the Mark IV, it's a great little camera that I use for mountain hikes. But it's not discreet or small enough to just pocket daily. Also doesn't do Instagram live videos, or allow me to upload stories at that moment. iP

Agreed, my occupation has been shifting to a professional food photographer/influencer/promoter/marketer/whatever you want to call it. For off the cuff shots, when the DSLR isn't around, or live video, I need better

Been using 12 on my 6s since the early betas, and it was like getting a brand phone. If it wasn't for wanting the new cameras and OLED screen, there isn't much reason for me to upgrade!

Not sure your age, but I think a lot of us are just growing up, and we're seeking more stable, intelligent news sources. I stopped using Reddit a couple years prior to the redesign. HN and Google News satisfy my news niche as well.

The frequency of these bizarre actions by Musk are going up. Is he seriously just cracking under the pressure of having way too much on his plate? The dude is obviously a genius, but he's turning into a mad genius.

That is an ideal world, but most are not willing to take a 50% pay cut to do so.

Spinning up another Reddit clone, with some nice new features is trivial at this point. You provide a reason for someone to spend time filling a void, and they will.

Sure, but all you're doing is effectively paying for those yourself with the pay cut. It's not just about paying for day to day things, 50% pay cut is 50% less I get to invest.

The great irony here, is that Reddit is making the same foolish mistake Digg did with a redesign, costing them their entire userbase, and propelling Reddit.

This should be the default instead of that other mess that looks like the Digg landing page.
