The answer is that people(like OP) who think they want random, really want shuffle. Or randomly choosing from whatever songs have NOT yet played.

That Pinterest google spam paywall is equivalent to follow/unfollow bots on instagram. While it is effective at gaining followers/signups, it's not bringing value added people. Of course if your metric for success is hockey s

That sounds like a rounding error in comparison to the value of cargo being hauled. I would have expected significantly more.

This is ALWAYS my problem with frameworks. All of the database voodoo in the background is a hack. If you end up requiring anything outside of simple operations for a small audience, you'll be inevitably tearing it all out from the gro

Good, non tactile buttons in an automobile is THE worst idea ever. I know where every single adjustment in my car is by feel alone, without the need for some dumb screen distracting me. Amazing that these screens don't have the negativ

Dribbble is just a giant circle jerk. It's actually uncomfortable reading through the comments on there. Someone changes a single pixel, on the 10000th iteration of an email icon, and you'd think they created the Sistine Chapel.

Very much a Hot or Not for everything! Out of curiosity, how are you handling unique votes, just cloudflares _cfduid? I ask because I'm working on something requiring anonymous votes, and GDPR is going to prohibit this. Thanks!

Nothing has really changed since then. That scenario still exists. We acquire tons of companies that have the equivalent of what you're describing.

Out of curiosity, how are you guys handling anonymous user actions without fingerprinting? For example if you want to setup a user poll, without requiring a user account? Storing it in a cookie can just be deleted, which the agent can just

Yes you can, go to Fidelity and sign up for one. Takes like 10 minutes. Transfer money, buy a fund, away you go. Just like an IRA, except never taxed at any point. Besides employer matching it's the best freaking retirement deal there

Because you can get your own HSA, it does not have to be employer supplied. I have an HSA with Fidelity, and an HDHP from my employer.

Yes, because the vast majority are as I described. Onboarding prompts are like those EU browser notifications multiplied by a hundred. No one cares, no one has ever read them. We are autotuned to just click away.

This is an unfortunate reminder to always have an emergency fund. If you're doing the paycheck to paycheck game, with one week severance, you're basically shit out of luck. Something eventually will come up.

I've got an easier solution in lieu of doing maths while drinking. When you feel warm and fuzzy, stop. That's typically only a few drinks in, and lasts for a couple hours. No issue with major dehydration.

If one person leaving jeopardizes the entire company, then that sounds like a serious issue with management and the business as a whole. What if they fall ill, or die suddenly? Everyone is replaceable.

You don't owe the company you work for anything. You worked, in exchange for money. End of transaction. Two weeks is being courteous, sixty days is being ridiculous. See the comment below, where Microsoft guards escort you out two days
