Why is it that every Java application I've encountered in my 20 years of corporate IT, has been a performance pig? Is it just a case of bad developers, making shit code? Is it difficult to make Java perform well, but when it does, it s

Expecting the entire world to turn vegetarian, seems unrealistic, unless there is some major collapse of the entire ecosystem. The ideal solution is that meat goes back to being a luxury or treat, instead of consuming it daily multiple time

Start to finish build time(including OS install) is maybe two hours if you're a complete newbie. Everything is color coded and keyed to fit into only one spot.

Just start doing it, in your free time. You'll be burning the candle at both ends for a while as you build up clients, but you're young, you've got the energy and the time.

I've had the luxury of a 36.5 hour work week, with no on call for about 18 years. It exists, but don't expect $300,000 salaries with it. You want to be rich, or do you want to live a rich life?

selected_related is the solution, not the problem. Without it, Django would make a database query literally every single loop iteration. My point is that without paying attention, Django makes it very easy to query things, sub-optimally.

Yes of course, but let's be realistic, would the people doing this type of clueless work, bother to seed a database? It's a self fulfilling prophecy of naivety. It's like all of the investing and saving advice on Yahoo Financ
